DALLAS HISPANIC BAR ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION

The Dallas Hispanic Bar Association Scholarship Foundation is the beneficiary of all funds raised at the DHBA’s Annual Event. The DHBA Scholarship Foundation’s goal is to increase diversity within the legal community by providing financial support to worthy students. The DHBA Scholarship Foundation provides scholarships to DISD Law Magnet High School students so that they can attend the Close-Up Program in Washington, DC and to students who are enrolled in Texas law schools.

Educational Scholarship Application

The HOT Chapter of MOAA sponsors, manages, and supports patriotic, educational,
charitable, community service, and military and veteran’s service activities. The Chapter strives to protect the rights and interests of active duty, retired, Reserve and National Guard, and veteran military personnel and their dependents and survivors.

Our educational scholarship program supports the above objectives and these objectives should be considered in completing this application. The Chapter scholarships are awarded to deserving students attending or planning to attend accredited schools of higher education, with selection preference given to members of an active duty military or military veteran’s immediate family, a member of the military or a veteran, or to a dependent, spouse or widow(er) of a fallen warrior. Applicants must reside in the central Texas area.

Applications will be considered regardless of race, color, creed or gender.

This scholarship has been established in honor and appreciation of Dr. Ralph Lynn and the assistance and guidance he so generously bestowed upon the students of Baylor University, and the former and present members of Alpha Tau Omega. The award is given primarily on the basis of merit with secondary consideration towards financial need. Any full time Baylor student who has completed at least 60 hours at Baylor by the end of the 2009 spring semester with a 3.0 cumulative grade point average or better is eligible to apply for this scholarship.

STACY ELISE WEDEMEYER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP 2009-2010 Academic Year

The family and friends of Stacy Elise Wedemeyer have established the Stacy Elise Wedemeyer Memorial Scholarship to recognize and honor a Baylor student whose activities and involvement in school and church show a commitment to Christ through leadership. Preference shall be given to students whose parents are in full-time Christian service. The award will be valued at $2,000 for the 2009-2010 academic year.

GUIDELINES
1. Applications must be made on the attached form and submitted to the Office of Academic Scholarships and Financial Aid no later than May 15, 2009.
2. Award recipients must be currently enrolled at Baylor University and scholastically eligible to enroll for the 2009-2010 academic year.

OPAL G. COX CHARITABLE TRUST SCHOLARSHIP 2009-2010

The Opal G. Cox Charitable Trust Scholarship has been established through the estate of Mrs. Opal G. Cox to provide scholarships for worthy students attending Baylor University.

GUIDELINES:
1. The attached application and faculty recommendation form are to be submitted no later than May 15, 2009.
2. Award recipients must be currently enrolled at Baylor University and scholastically eligible to enroll for the 2009-2010 academic year.
3. Students eligible for consideration must have completed at least 30 hours at Baylor University by the end of the 2009 spring semester with a cumulative Baylor grade point average of 3.2 or above and, if selected to receive a scholarship, enroll in a minimum of 12 semester hours of undergraduate studies in the fall 2009 and spring 2010 semesters.

The John Clifton Memorial Scholarship

The John Clifton Memorial Scholarship was established by the Baylor Chamber of Commerce to honor the life of John Clifton, a pledge of the Chamber who died in 1967. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of merit and need. A recipient of the scholarship must:

1. Be a junior or senior during the 2009-2010 academic year.
2. Have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above.
3. Not be a member of the Baylor Chamber of Commerce for the duration of the Scholarship.
4. Be enrolled in the School of Business
5. Exhibit the qualities of scholarship, leadership, and Christian service.
6. Demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

Please complete the application and return it to the Baylor Chamber of Commerce office in the Bill Daniel Student Center by Monday, April 20th, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. An unofficial transcript, available from the Office of Academic Records and Registration in Clifton Robinson Tower, should be included. Additionally, an Award History printout from BearWeb’s Financial Aid section should be included.
