Graduate International Scholarships - Hawaii Pacific University

Hawaii Pacific University has an International Center (IC) that offering several types of institutional graduate scholarships and assistantships to new, international, full-time, degree-seeking students as well as Undergraduate International Scholarships.

TYPES OF AWARDS

  • Graduate Assistantship: 50 percent tuition waiver for one semester. Requires a 10-hour per week work assignment. (U.S. citizens, permanent residents and International students)
  • International Scholar Program: 20 percent to 50 percent tuition waiver. (International students)

  • Minimum Eligibility Requirements: Previous academic record

    - Fall semester - April 1
    - Spring semester - September 1

ELIGIBILITY AND CRITERIA

New, full-time degree-seeking students, who have applied directly to the university and believe they have a financial need, may apply for institutional scholarships and assistantships. Other factors that may be considered when evaluating requests are:

* Previous academic record
* Community involvement and service
* Professional work experience and achievement

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PROCESS

Priority consideration will be given to those students who apply by the deadline. Applications received after the priority deadline will be awarded on a funds-available basis. You will be notified by mail as decisions are made should you apply for a graduate scholarship or assistantship. The type and value of the scholarship will be explained in the award letter if you are selected as a scholarship recipient.

Undergraduate International Scholarships in Hawaii Pacific University

Hawaii Pacific University(HPU) is the largest private university in Hawaii. It was attended by 8200 students from all U.S. states and more than 100 countries. The diversity of the student population stimulates learning first hand about other cultures, both inside and outside the classroom. There is no majority populations in HPU. Description: This Undergraduate International Scholarship is a partial tuition waiver ranging from 20% to 50% of tuition. It is renewable each year until completion of a undergraduate degree as long as the student is in good academic standing.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements
: Eligible applicants are full-time degree-seeking students who have applied directly to Hawaii Pacific University and have been accepted.

The following scholarship requirements must be fulfilled to be considered for an award:

A. A completed HPU Application for Undergraduate Admissions form including:

*
Certified academic transcripts from your college (all documents that are not in English must be accompanied by certified English translations)
*
U.S. $50 application fee
*
Statement of Financial Sponsorship
*
Original or certified copy of a bank statement or letter showing sufficient funds to cover one academic year of study at HPU
*
Documented proof that you meet HPU's minimum English Requirements.

B. A completed Undergraduate International Scholarship Application form including:

A letter of recommendation, preferably from a professor, current or former teacher who knows you well.
*
A letter of motivation.

Deadlines:

Applications for the fall semester must be mailed by April 1, and received by April 15

Applications for the spring semester must be mailed by September 1, and received by September 15

Selected scholarship recipients will be notified by mail with the details of the award.

NOTE:
1.This scholarship may not be used in combination with other scholarships funded by the University, and may be applied only to the fall and spring semesters.
2. If students are awarded more than one scholarship within the same academic year, they may select the scholarship having the greater value.
3. Recipients of a 50% tuition waiver award are committed to a part-time work requirement of fifteen hours per week at the University during the fall and spring semesters.
